Engine bay spray paint?

Anyone have a recomendation for an enginebay spray paint, something that will look good, its not a show car I just want it too look nice. IM just about done primering it. I want something I can buy at AutoZone or PepBoys and wont cost me a fortune. By the way im gonna use it in the wheel wells too. I dont want something too shiny but not too dull either, I guess like a stock new look. If its too shiny it might show all the area's I missed sanding.

My favorite is Krylon Semi-flat...or maybe it is Semi-Gloss.....can't remember but it there are both get one of each and experiment to find what YOU like. Get it at WalMart for about $2.50 a can.

I have had it on engine bays for years without any trouble at all. I put over 100K on my 66 coupe with the Krylon paint with absolutely no problem and my Shelby has it on there also.....once again with no problem. High heat paint is only needed when the part itself is going to get really hot but the engine compartment sheetmetal does not get hot enough to warrant highe heat paint. I have been using the Krylon for over 20 years without problems....I also use their canned primer when I don't mix and spray my own since it it better quality than the crap you get at the auto parts store for 2X the price.

If you have access to a compressor and a spray gun, I suggest Rustoleum Satin Black thinned to the point where it drips off the mixing stick at a good pace. This paint looks AWESOME in an engine bay. Its what I did mine in. A friend of mine did his 56 bel air frame the same way.

I painted mine with the engine still in the car and then touched it up with regular old spray-can satin black rustoleum. You can use this for the whole engine bay, but the spray gun technique is best.

Dupli-color High heat (1200 degree) #1602. Great for manifolds, frames, engine bays, etc. I buy it by the case at Murrays. Great stuff.

I would recommend Krylon Semi-Glos #1630 or the Rustoleum Semi-gloss (a little bit more glossier then the krylon). Or Eastwood's Chassis Black Paint is also a good choice.
