Trying to get some opinions is it a tough task filling those holes up with sheet metal? Ive heard JB weld is easier then welding , Ive heard riviting it isnt that tough? Any opinions, and even Pictures .. Thanks alot .
If you're a decent with a welder, it isn't too hard, just time consuning. I'm no welder and did it to my 84. Welded everything up, grinded welds, and used body filler to smooth out. Can see pictures in my signature....
Get a decent size hunk of aluminum, hold it on the backside of the hold and plug weld it. The weld won't stick to the aluminum and wont fall through the hole, its easy and they clean up nice. Just my opinion but JB Weld is becoming just as badly abused as Bondo and duct tape, especially if you have access to a welder why not do it right and never have to do it again.

For the thread starter....You don't have to get sheet metal for the small holes. You can just fill them in with weld. It takes some experience to do it that way, but it is an excellent way to learn. It is very time consuming. For larger holes you can get some thin metal...1/16" thick and place them over whatever you want and weld it up. Good luck, and start now to get done by summer.

I'm a welder by trade! you dont use aluminum! you use a thick piece of copper! your right that it wont stick to aluminum! but..... aluminum and welding can make you sick!!! if you breath in the fumes! you can get sick from any weld fumes but aluminum is the worst! just my 2 cents! James
Well granted ... I always use aluminum but I also always wear a respirator, as I personally don't feel like huffing ANY welding fumes .. I'm sorry I should have said to be careful for fume sickness
