Looks like you have your work cut out for you. Go rent a powerwasher and get a few cans of degreaser from auto parts store.

While you are in there maybe upgrade that master cylinder

First of all i want to say kudos to thoes of you you have your engine bay painted. And you for the ones that dont, well good luck... I have now found that i have to replace the battery apron because some one hacked it up... But in just a short hour to hour and half i have got this accomplished...

you need one of those pressure pot blasters from harbor freight .they are cheap and actually work very well . the one i have is just the small one ,it will blast an engine compartment easily .

Which M/C is a direct replacement without having to rebend lines?

if you are changing the master cylinder in a 65-66 you will have to add a line
i use a 67 master cylinder, and buy the new 67 brake lines . the 67 cylinder and lines is the simplest . you will need a 67 distribution block as well.

That is coming out awesome. Engine bays can be time consuming.

Coming along nicely, sure is a ton of work. I just painted mine (body color) recently. Nice to have it over with, painting was pretty awkward too.

I forgot to add the lower crossmember. When I did mine, I had to use a ratchet strap tpo pull the front of the frame rails in to get them tight. Bill
