Hey everyone... I hope I am in the right place!
I have an 08 gt and I am looking to add a short block and some other mods. Currently running a paxton 2200 HO at about 483 RWHP on stock block. I need to add the short block and I am stuck between two other directions.. with my Paxton supercharger and other mods I am tuned to about 490 RWHP...I am wondering if I add the short block how far my supercharger alone can get me hspr wise...I heard about 680 RWHP also I heard switching out the head unit can get me over 800 rwhp.
If the supercharger in the short block cant get me that far I am guessing I will need to add the cams and heads...
Of course the transmission, suspension, rear-end ect.....

I have about 12000-13000 to spend so I am either getting the block, rear end, axles and a new transmission ... or I am just going to get the block and top end done with headers, cams and new air intake manifold. Suggestions please!!!!!!

Common guys.. I need to know how much power my paxton can make without engine power mods. I'm getting the short block for sure but want to add the transmission and rear end ect... if the blower can't make much more than my current 500 rwhp (with a pully change) without heads and cams and such I will go ahead with that first.
 
That blower will not get anywhere near the power you're looking for even with cams and heads. Eventually the impellers will run out of RPM. To get the HP you want you need to upgrade the blower head.

He's running 10 psi and getting 484 rwhp.

JPC is getting 802 rwhp on a 2011 5.0 with a Novi 2200.

He should be able to get to 680 rwhp with a pulley change considering the levels he's already putting out.
 
The 302 is a totally different animal. PSI really doesn't mean anything as that is at the manifold. You're not going to get 200RWHP by buy putting a pulley on the blower. That blower just doesn't have the flow to make that power on a 3V, he'll have to send the blower head out to get new impellers put in it. The 2200 blower has can be sold for many different vehicles, the reason why there are different part numbers for the kits not only is for the pipes and brackets to fit a particular engine bay but also impeller design.

"Thank you for your support in Paxton. This head unit is good to 1000 flywheel horsepower. I have a couple 900 rwhp Vettes back east that run them and JPC has made 802 rwhp with this blower on a new 5.0!!!
You should need a bigger unit until you reach above those power levels.

BS ... Once again!

1) A smaller SC pulley at the compressor means higher boost. PSI at the manifold means EVERYTHING .... This backpressure IS THE BOOST!

2) The 302 is not that different of a beast, it's still a 4v short deck mod motor, and the flow is equivelent to a GT500 or a 4.6V 4v termi motor. It just has higher compression, and can turn a little more RPM because they fixed the oil drainback issues. The 5.0's can only be boosted to 7 psi on pump gas because of the higher 11.0:1 compression The 3V's (9.85:1) can go 10 psi on pump gas, and the GT500's which are 8.5:1 are running 15 psi on pump gas. Guess what .. all three combos put out about from 475 to 550 hp. Not that big of a spread.

3) You can absolutely get 200 rwhp with a pulley on a 3V, depending on the pulley you could get alot more.

4) That compressor is absolutely capable of 680 hp and alot more.

5) They put different impellers in the same model? I serously doubt it!

OK here is the rest of my email stream...the rep from Paxton had not once mentioned changing out impellers... I have asked a lot of folks how much power the 2200HO can handle and no one has mention anything about impellers. I have looked all over the Paxton website and they do not sell nor say anything about impellers. The guy I have building my engine now has not mentioned a thing either about impellers.

Though I am grateful for any and all advice..on this one I second the notion on BS!

That's good. Did they answer your original question of gaining your HP levels?
