Well, after dropping my engine off 2 weeks ago, it is completely assembled (short block). I got a complete deal for 700 bucks including everything. I went with the comp cams 268H, and replacement cast flat tops. The only thing thats keeping the motor there is a timing cover (mine cracked somehow) probably from removing it. Anyone know where I can get a good used timing cover? Ebays prices are pretty high for used covers. Also what is magnafluxing? my engine recieved it but he didnt go into detail on what it was. Anyways just updating getting pumped for the next couple of weeks.

Mike

Also has anyone rebuilt their own tranny? Ive thought about saving some money but im not too sure about it.

m-fluxing is a crack-checking method. No news is good news

Timing covers are expensive, for some reason. You may have to bite the 'Bay bullet, or make a trip or three to your local Yard O' Junque.

What trans?
