Engine Failsafe mode

I drove around for about 2 hours yesterday morning with no problems, backed the stang into the garage and 3 hours later when I was going out for another spin the car would start but the engine failsafe mode light was on and the gas peddal was disabled. It ran really rough. I read the manual and it indicated low coolant. Sure enought the coolant was low so I topped it off. I reset the error through the system/reset buttons. When I did another system check it still failed and inticated it was in engine failsafe mode. I called the dealership and was told it is probably the throttle body and to have it towed in. THIS SUCKS!!! Has anyone else had a similar experience? I found a couple postings indicating throttle body problems. Also, does anyone know if there are any more TSB's other than the strut tower bushing and the gas neck? If I am going to take it in I want all of the fixed at once.

Did you try cleaning your throttle body? That usually fixes that sort of thing. They tend to grab on to oil from your filter (if you're using a K&N style filter) and other things and can really get gunked up.

I had similar problem, but mine turned out to be the accelerator pedal. I don't know where you are located but in Houston there is a tec at Mak Haik Ford named Frank. The guy is AWESOME. He is on top of his game.

My Warranty rocks

Good thing I have the extended warranty. The dealer just called and said it was the throttle body that failed. I will find out what they do to fix it and repost later. Also, the TSB for the fuel tank requires them to replace the entire tank.(holy crap) They are going to fix the strut tower TSB as well, and the guy mentioned there is a recall on the passenger side airbag for that year.

Ok, talked to the dealership and they are replacing the Throttle body, heads up guys in case you run into the same problem.
