Engine install failure, also anyone with canton oil pan

got my engine built and finally went to install it tonight.

long story short.. the canton oil pan is so tight if it fits at all, the input shaft wont line up with the crank right. then the engine just tips back and forth around the input and makes one side of the bellhousing tight and the other a 1-2" gap.

does anyone use a canton 7 quart oil pan with stock k-member? its hitting right on the corners of it it seems like. which makes it a near impossible angle and position for them to line up.

im really thinking about just re-installing my stock oil pan, at least it works.

do you have a hi-po oil pump? If so, you need a bigger pan or you'll suck the stock one dry...so I hear. If you're just running a regular replacement pump, I suppose an option would be to reinstall the stock pan, but I'd wait to get some mroe feedback personally. Good luck man.

i just have a stock type pump on there, ive never heard any issues with needing another pump. the pickup sits the same height as a stocker. who knows though, anyone have some more feedback on that?

i think ill just pull it and sell it though. even the screw in dipstick i got is a pos. it is nice and i liked the pan alot, but its too much bs for me. i believe you need a tubular k-member or something slimmer then a stock to make it fit as well as the stock pan. that is without me dropping my transmission to fit it, MAYBE. the dipstick sits almost under the engine mount so youll need to bend it a bunch of ways to get through headers and around the mount, then its a severe angle to put the dipstick in everytime, oil level is off, no low oil sensor fitting. my god i cant ever catch a break with this car it seems.
