Engine Knock....

Your pulling the engine. Your gonna need to lift the engine to get the oilpan off so you mindswell pull that sob out and get it rebuilt. Im sure your crank may need to be grinded now too.
 
Had mine done a few months ago - did not pull the engine - dropped the pan - replaced rod and crank bearings, oil pump, etc... crank was good - caught it before it went too far - all you can do is try - see what it looks like - all depends on what you want to do.

yeah, i've done that one before too, but it's only a band-aid fix, if your bearings are carved up, more than likely so are the bearing journals, then just putting in new bearings will only delay the real problem...

at least pull it and freshen it up, whoever mentioned getting your crank ground or even throwing in a new engine-they're both right!
