engine machining question

i have a 69 mustang (302 originally came with it) i want to machine the original block and freshen it up (replace rings crank bearings install a better cam and use my stock heads) does anyone know what this normally costs? if it is too much i will just go with getting a 347 stroker or 408 which are about 1800-2000.

ALSO does anyone know of any good inexpensive machine shops in the metro detroit area???

the machine work is going to run about the same either way. by the time you get all the parts you need, and get the machine work done, you will be into the engine about $1200-1500. my advice is that since you are going to rebuild anyway, build what you want, the difference isnt that much.
