Hey Guys and Gals. New member here. I have a headache with my 91 2.3. The car starts, runs a few seconds and then quits. A buddy of mine has a fuel pressure gauge, and when the engine quits, the fuel pressure stays. So it must be spark quiting. I changed the timing belt, so when I was there I changed the crank sensor. Same buddy said it could be the module on the driver's fender, so i changed that, still no go. I also changed the computer and still no luck! What else could there be? I have asked around with my friends and they all said to change the items I have changed. Anybody with any ideas??:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Module on the driver's fender? The only thing I can think of that's over there is the starter solenoid. Have you had the ignition module checked? It's the flat grey thing on the driver's side mounted to the front of the intake manifold, right behind the power steering pump. It has a grey plug in one and a black plug in the other.

If you take it to have it tested, have them test it several times to get it to heat up. Although you may not have to if it quits as soon as you say it does.

Have you had a chance to pull the codes from the ECU? It may shed some light on what's going on.

Sorry, that module with the dual plugs is what I was meaning. I have changed that piece. From what I have been told, the three pieces I have changed(computer, module, crankshaft sensor) is what controls the spark in that system. What is so weird is that it does start, runs for a few seconds, and then quits. It starts every time, and quits every time. You cannot keep it running by using the gas pedal, it just quits.

I took the car to a shop and the "KOEO" codes are
218 - loss of ignition diagnostic monitor left side and
222 - loss of ignition diagnostic monitor right side. I take it to mean that with that 8 spark plug system, there is something wrong with the coils? Anybody run into this before?
