engine noise..

so, I got my car to start after it was stolen, had to put in a "new" column. 'fore checking it, I checked all the fluids just to be sure. so I did and I hear a loud ticking sound, it's goes with the RPM, around the intake, maybe buttom. hard to tell though, so anyway, I checked, since a day before it got stolen, I installed my headers, checked if it's leaking, nah.. so now I'm taking off my intake and all to check rockers, valves, springs, pushrods, lifters, etc.. I'd still personally be leaning toward an exhaust leak if you just did headers. You could still have a leak, even though all the header bolts are tight. I replaced the crappy paper gaskets I got with a set of headers, and went with a quality Fel-Pro gasket, and never had an issue again.

If it's not a header gasket leak, it's probably a collapsed lifter from when the car was stolen.

Lifters, or headers. I would guess it a header leak.
