nito - sounds right - but it's hard to know without seeing it. Also, be sure your radiator is up to the task of rejecting the extra heat that's gonna be coming from your oil. The beauty of a separate cooler for the oil (out of the radiator's air stream) is that you actually add cooling capacity to the vehicle. With the one you're contemplating, you'll just be using any excess capacity that your radiator already has. And if it doesn't have enough, expect your coolant temps to rise. Also, you may have a hard time achieving as big of a temperature reduction with that set up. You'll be cooling the oil with coolant that's at best the lower temp coming out of the bottom of the radiator - maybe 150F - probably higher. An air to oil is cooling with air that's at ambient temp - usually not more than 110F. And during much of the year, it's at much lower temps than that. The greater the temp difference between the cooling medium and the oil temp, the more heat that gets removed.

drgn - stock Explorer intake on mine...the seam on the front is just a casting/parting line.
