Engine Oil Leak from Lower Intake! It seemed like it?

The rear main would crop oil down the back of the oil pan, and it may drip out of the bottom of the bellhousing as well.
Keep in mind that pcv leaks will drip out of the bellhousing as well though.


The best thing you can do is go through the motor and clean up all the loose oil dripping and running down the block. It can be tough to do a good job of this, but it is the only method I can think of which can be done at home.
I think there are dyes that can be used if you take it to a shop, but not sure there.

Once you have it all cleaned up, you have to watch continuously for new wet spots. You may have to clean the block several times, but you should be able to narrow down the region of the oil leak each time.
Eventually you will find it.


Since you said before that there was no oil leak for a couple of weeks, then it came back...
I am thinking this is related to crankcase pressure. If you didn't hit the throttle too hard during that time, then there wouldn't be any issues with crankcase pressure.

I suspect the pcv is the problem.

wELL I DONT HAVE the pcv screen. my mechanic took it out. he said it causes problems with his experiences.

So buy a new screen and put it in. You probably needed a new one anyways. It is there to stop oil from being sucked into the pcv valve. Taking it out will only make your problems worse. The only reason to take it out and leave it out is if your's is clogged up. Buy a new one. Done.

How do i put the screen in with the intakes already on car. i know how to get my hand back tehre and i know where it is. (the pcv im talking about.

Your hand will fit..the screen will fit, take some time and do it.

You will have to pull the grommet out to get the screen in.

If your mechanic says the screen is worthless, then it's time to find a new mechanic.
Just my opinion, which is skewed by several bad experiences with 'professional' mechanics.

First, i pull out the PCV hose going in the hole, then what?

2. Remove the Grommet

3. Remove the screen (if it is there)

4. Install the new screen

5. Install the new Grommet

6. Install the new pcv

7. Make sure everything is installed tight
