Engine oil overfilled question.

2011 3.7...had oil changed Saturday, told them 3 times, put in 5.5 qts and check from there. They put in 6. Checked it Sunday and it was over the second kink in the d/s. Went back and they drained some,...Im guessing between 1/3-1/2 qt, they showed me the d/s and it showed at the the second hole.

Get up t his morning and its sitting at the bottom of the top kink,..about 1/4" over the top hole. Drive to work and check again immediately, the dirty oil comes right to the second hole in the d/s, but clean oil goes to the bottom of the second kink.

Should I bother trying to get more out or am I good?

Ive got an 06 so it could be different but on mine the top hole on the dipstick
is the absoute highest level, and you shouldnt go one drop over there.
The normal full hash mark is actually lower than the hole and is the perfect level.
Thats one reason I always change my own oil. Those guys are in a hurry and
miss the details.

Hi Steves06GT,

6 quarts is listed in the owners manual as the capacity for the 3.7L,so the fact that it was filled to that level will not cause any damage. It is unfortunate they did not listen to your request. You should be fine with that amount, though.
