Ok well some of you might not think it but i'm redoing under the hood again this winter. On the engine what would you paint? I'm thinking of redoing the color of the intake maybe? Was wanting the silver "clean" look. Not all the bling bling look. Here are a few pics of how it looks now. peace john

All brackets, intake, VCs in a nice bright silver. Then get new wires, hoses, cap, clean up the black trim, get some matching CAI sleeves, and it should look really nice!

Hmm...If my notch doesn't sell, I'm thinking of painting all that stuff silver. I need to make the engine bay look a little bit newer.

I kind of like the white. Do the valve covers and intake white, and all the other parts silver or black. Do away with any other colors, like the blue tubing and plug wires, tan distributor cap, and red wire looms. All those parts should be black or gray. See if you can't get a cover for the coil, too.

I'm not sure about the alternator, I taped mine up when I painted it.

Silver looks the best in my opinion, but the white if done right might not look bad.

thats why i went flat black. I powdered the heads silver so they would stay cleaner. If I ever got to drive my car I could see if it actually stayed that way.

Would it hurt to paint the cap? Where do you get colored ones at? It's a accel alumn. dizzy so thats there cap. the wire looms are just there figured it was better then zip ties, the rad. hose's yeah pissed me off! they were suppose to match the plug wires. the plug wires are old and 1 is burnt/cracked from the long tubes.White intake and valvecovers might look good, there is a couple scheme's on here i'm checking out in pics.I will do the acc in black and matte/flat black or i will do silver, it shouldnt be a problem keeping clean i think i put about 10,000 miles a year,it's seen rain 1time this year! anybody wanna post up some pics?peace

I believe the Ford Motorcraft ones are gray, I'd look into one of those for your car. MSD and others are usually red. You just have to look around. I had an Accel cap for a while, that tan is butt-ugly and doesn't match anything you'd want in a Fox's engine bay. I have an MSD red cap now, matches my 'bay, but sadly, the ugly Accel seemed to be better quality!

I just did some silver powdercoat for someone on a bracket, and am doing more for him next week. It came out great, looks amazing, and we'll end up having that OEM look that subtely screams 'check this out'. It's a very, very clean look when you do it right. But...you've gotta do it right.

No pics of his parts but he's getting an alternator bracket next. I can take a picture of that one.

Here's the only pic I could find of the color. I wrote on the pic to show the color name and point out the truest representation of the color:
