What filters do you guys suggest. We just threw it on there because it looks better than the dented blue painted one. Our explorer takes the same one so I can just use that one on it.
From my personal experiences, I ended up using Mobil1 or K&N oil filters as they seem to keep the oil physically cleaner. I do have an 8 quart sump that might help in that department also.
Purolator Pure One for me. Frams are always bashed on, but I have used the on my daily driver since new with mobil1 w/o any trouble. It has 195k on it and oil was change every 8000 -10000 miles. It still uses less than a quart between oil changes (8 -10k) which seems acceptible. I now use pure one's and the oil seems to look clean longer. Oh, I like the vacuum operated oil sending unit.
