Do I need to do anything to my engine during the paint removal and prep process as I am not running it?

Do I need to do anything to my engine during the paint removal and prep process as I am not running it?

Prepare the carb (or intake), distributor (or hole) and exhaust ports (or end of headers) so foreign objects do not enter. Also plug the radiator hose openings if the hose is not in place and any other opening that is present, ie, oil pressure sending, water temp, etc.

You get the idea!
