recently installed rebuilt 98 explorer engine Gt40 heads and intake in my 94 gt. the the stock ecu can't handle the changes would a ecu from an explorer be a better fit, if not what can I do? also the car also has a AODE tranny.

No, explorer ECU is obd2 and uses a wasted spark distributorless ignition. It’s not compatible

What other changes were made ? The stock computer should be able to handle just the explorer swap.

What exactly do you mean by the ecu can't handle it? Is it running crappy? Does it idle ok ?
Have you checked for codes?, Vaccum leaks?,fuel pressure?, Ect.ect.ect.???

your changes are minor and should not have any impact on the EEC. You need to expand on what you mean by it can't handle the changes. My guess is something wrong with the install.
