engine run like a$$ when hot

quick question, my engine runs real nice until it hits about 190 then it really really really lags, like so bad i can barely spin in first. no joke. i have an entire trick flow setup, aftermarket mass air pulleys...pretty much every bolt on known to man.. anyone have any ideas?

do you have an aftermarket temp gauge? because if not, than its probably running way hotter than that

i would start by re-placeing the therm then go from there.

As ECU5.0 said, you can't trust the factory guage. The computer begins to pull timing when the engine gets too warm; which accounts for the "lag" you feel, and this sounds like it could be what you're experiencing.

well i have a digital gauge by summit and it read 186, its practically brand new and it was hooked in the with extra temp spot in the back of the intake that was plugged up.

Dump the codes and see what the computer says is wrong…

Here's the link to dump the computer codes with only a jumper wire or paper clip and the check engine light, or test light or voltmeter. I’ve used it for years, and it works great.

i had another thread on checking codes last night, my car only gave me 81 which was the thermactor. and that was a soft code, intermittent.
