my check engine light is still on and im going to get it fixed tommorow probably...the code is P0172 lean bank 1, so the engine is running lean...but thats all i know. i got plenty of advice on what it could be from explaining the problem. my car runs a little rough sometimes when accelerating and feels like it hesitates to accelerate and i an hear the rear end making a weird pop noise every once in a while. i assumed it was a dirty MAF sensor so i cleaned it, but thats not the problem. and i doubt its o2 sensors on the exhaust cause i had both of those replaced when i bought the car...what else could be the problem??? i really hope its not a big deal or expensive fix...

If it's not the 02 sensor or wiring (these cars are old enough that the wiring gets brittle, cracks and grounds on a frame member...) then you either have a vacuum leak on bank one (passenger's side) or you have a small exhaust leak ahead of the 02 sensor. The exhaust leak is the probably culprit, only takes a pinpoint and the exhaust sucks in atmospheric 02 giving a false reading - and of course the PCM responds by adding more fuel and adapting to that until the engine runs like crap. Once you fix the problem, be sure to clear your KAM. You might even try clearing the KAM now in case your old 02 sensors were bad and had been giving false readings... (disconnect the negative battery terminal, turn on the headlights, step on the brake 4-5 times, turn off the lights and reconnect. Cleared.
