01GT with a t-56 installed(probobly unrelated to the t-56)

so i go to get my car fixed and i learn my throut is torn into 3 large chunks. no biggie. i also bought some Thunder Racing MIL's and put them on(my old dallas mustang MIL's took a crap, or so i think). pay to get my car back, and take my car out. i get 2 minutes down the road and notice that my car stalled. figured i was me doing something wrong. so i start her back up. go another minute or so and it stalls again. this time i know it wasent me. so i look and my SES light is on, start the car up and i look at the Trip-o-meter(the digital readout that has the Trip and car milage) thing, and all it says is "--------" across the screen. cant switch between milage and trip, all i get is -------(i did not count the actual -'s)

so i go back to the shop and she idles fine the whole way back. we scan my car, the snappon OBDII scanner says that it cant read the computer. odd... tryed again and then it says there is nothign wrong. so i go back out thinking it was a fluke. happens again. so i call the shop and we decided to take it back and i would leave it there overniight so they could look at it in the morn. on the way back to the shop, it idles fine the whole way back, this time the when i pull into the bay my car stalls, and he saw it. so im not crazy, lol

now, throughout all this my car has either idled fine, or just plumeted like my IAC is bad. but my engine is already warm, so that rules that out(IMO). He told me he hooked the Vehicle speed sensor back up, and i am showing mile an hour and RPM's fine even when i have the ---'s across the tach.

any ideas?

unrelated to the topic but i bet your car slowed down a lot after the T-56. that's a 2.66 first gear. your stock being 3.27. You'll have to get at least 3.73 or 3.90's just to get stock gearing back. eek

yes, the battery was reset abotu 1 week before when i was under the car lookign at my tranny...

the problem was with teh speed ca. on a decline for some reason the power would get nocked. then it would send odd codes to the computer and it woudl nuts and shut down/throw the ---'s.

all is resolved now. thanks for the help guys

how abotu 4.10's

have had them in since before i got the t-56 in. i did some math before i did the t-56 and de3cided on them.

problem is, i neglected to lok into the future. so with my current setup, if i go above 108MPH i will need to either get a taller tire, or get 3.73/3.90's so i dont ahev to shift into 5th(OD gear)

you guys should try this...it helps

If you live in US or Canada and want really cheap car insurance, go to
http://www.imanass.com/Incurance.htm and click on the second banner from the top. They give free instant quote and it is very cheap. My insurance on my Mustang was around $500 per 6 months and their quote was $320. It takes 2 minutes to calculate quote. First banner from the top is also insurance company that gives instant quotes but their quotes are higher.

oh shiot. the 5th gear on the t-56 is an OD gear? damn wtf. so i suppose 6th in a sense is an OD gear too and is a pulling gear compared to 5th correct. hope i'm making myself clear

yes in all t-56's that i am aware of the 5th and 6th gears are OD. im sure there are some race built trannys out there that are not, but i dont follow them

the viper spec trannys(mine) have a taller 5th and 6th gear from other trannys out there. i think my 5th is .73 and 6th is .52, or somethign like that. i dont ahev the nymbers infront of me right now
