I got my engine stand at harbor freight for around $50 I think....I know it was on sale. I don't know about the warranty.
Here is a link to the jack I have. Whatever you get, I would recommend getting one w/ a big head on it...not the little small ones that some jacks have. I think I've had this jack for about a year and a half and it's fine so far. The reviews for it on the sears site are pretty crappy, though. There are plenty of other threads about jacks. If you search, I'm sure you can locate them.
yeah i was thinking of going with that one but i didnt want something that would end up messing up in the middle of my motor build i will search and see what i can find thanks
I don't have an engine stand but I do have this Crapsman jack. Part Number #00950240000. The saddle goes up to full hight in two pumps (when it doesn't have a load on it). When it has a load on it, it takes about 6 hard pumps to get to full hight. I'm not super impressed with it, but it doesn't weigh a lot, it has a low profile and it serves my purposes pretty well for $99.
Don't bother with craftsman garbage, I bought the 90 dollar black and yellow 4ton jack and it went out after a year and a half and about 15 uses. Save your money and find something better.
Thanks for changing my mind bout the craftman jack. My dad had the full black one and it went out in bout a year and like 2 months, and he used it like 3 times is the crappy part. I guess I will do some more looking for the time being. Not gonna pull my motor out till the finish our new house, so i dont have to worry bout buying one a couple more weeks.
i have a cheap ass pro lift jack from advance auto. i have the big heavy one. ive used it for 4 yrs without issue. i use it constantly too. my only complaint is its heavy.
