Engine Engine Swap Help

There are way to many differences between a fox and that SN95 to even consider moving the ECM and wiring. I would get a 93 Cobra upper intake/throttle body setup and the wiring harness/ECM from a V8 fox. They also make replacement fox wiring harnesses that you could buy.

You'll also need to install all the fox accessories and brackets on the front of the motor.

Then you will want a fox bell housing and fuel pump setup.

Honesty you may be better off to sell the Cobra and find a V8 fox to use as a donor car.

The 94-95 electrical & computer systems are radically different between 82 and 95.
What is the level of your automotive electrical skill? Answer this question truthfully and accurately, and I'll give you a plan on how to best accomplish your goal. This isn't a bolt on, plug 'N play project if you choose the EFI path.,

Thank you for your response spent quite a bit of time on the internet looking into this situation and have decided I am not going to be putting that motor in that car. sounded like a good idea until I found out exactly what all it was going to entail to do it correctly. Although I plan to put the t5 and if possible the rear end in the 82 GT. Haven't really looked into it all that much yet I have no idea what it would take to put that rear end in the 82. I bet I can find that information on this site. Thanks again

I'd still do it, but with a nice carb setup on top. Sell all the EFI and cobra parts to fund your project. Swap the trans, rear end, front brakes, MC/booster and run it with a nice 4bbl carb on top with a decent cam. Should be a fun car.

That cobra intake manifold should fetch you a pretty penny.

Although I am not a fan of carbs, @Mustang5L5 has given you the beast answer for you to do.
Transplant the transmission, rear axle, front brakes and do a 5 lug swap. Also depending on the condition of the interior, consider a seat swap as well.

I'm planning to get everything I can out of the 95 cover to put in the 1982 GT. The rear end was a question I had asking whether would bolt right in or what I would have to do to get it to work in that car I really hope it will. Also the transmission was a given I had heard that I needed to swap clutch pedals or something like that to put it T5 in the 82 you guys ever heard anything like that it's got the old T4 in it from what I've read it's pretty much junk transmission far as any kind of horsepower anyway. Again I really appreciate you guys responses years ago I had a little Mustang that I used to drag race track it was a long time ago it was a fox body had a 88 fuel injected motor in it and I loved it this one building for my daughter want to get her out to the track.

Yeah pretty much given up on putting the 95 motor in the fox body car any idea what I should ask for the intake or the entire motor for that matter it still runs really good not sure what performance parts have been put in it

Thank you for your response my level with electronic fuel injection is not in depth far as mechanical wise I've built promod motors with mechanical fuel injections so I'm pretty comfortable with any type of mechanics. But there's a lot of difference between mechanical and electrical fuel injection and I realize now I'm not at that level not for this swap anyway the older Fox fuel injections I think I can probably handle that but this one he is not that clearly

Here is what I would do:
Stick the engine, trans and rear from the 95 into the 82, grab a roller cam from somewhere (you have to decide where because I don't know what gear or tire size you will be running) stick a aluminum intake and a 4 barrel carb on it and go racing. If the funds permit grab a set of aluminum heads for it. I think the spindles from the 95 will work too and you get 5 lugs and better brakes, don't forget the booster/master cylinder to match the new brakes.

Thanks for the info I understand that i should change K member for the modular motor to do it right. At this point dont want to get that deep into the chassis. I also want it a street car to a point anyway its for my 16 yr old daughter. But you have given me solid advice and i appreciate it.

94-95 was still a pushrod 302. No k-member swap needed.

When it comes to donor cars for a Fox body, you've got a good one to start from. Use a carb setup and find yourself a correct accessory setup (don't use the SN95 accessories) and you can build a pretty bad ass setup.

As for what the cobra is worth? Need more info on it. Those 94-95 Cobra intakes complete go for around $500

My 95 cobra has a 5.0 in it, thats the way they came. Yours has a modular engine?

No kidding 500 that go along way towards a nice carb setup. This car also has full stainless exhaust that i don't believe i can use on the fox. Someone dropped some cash on that. Have you bought or sold any parts on this site? If so was it a good experiance?
