I have a 98 mustang gt and i want to swap the engine for a 2003 mustang gt engine and was wondering if everything would work out. I was going to just do the pi swap but my engine burns oil and i want a low mile engine. Also im going to supercharge it later and dont want to worry about compression. Will the engine bolt up to my tranny. Is there anything i need to know about doing this.

engine will bolt up to the trans. there will be wiring harness issues, and you have to use your stock fuel system, or else reconfigure your car for a returnless system.

i swapped in a motor out of a 99...Everything goes in smooth. You just have to reuse all of your accessories(alt, water pump, fuel rails, etc.). Your computer cant run the COP ignition system, so you have to keep the 2 coils. Basically just use the new longblock (block and heads) and put everything else back in just the way it was.

but we can just reuse our fuel setup from the 98GT onto a newer PI engine....also what about the trannys will our T45 bolt up ok??

What did you do about the wiring harness issues??

reuse your fuel set up and just get a chip or programmer custom for the swap so it will run better but should run fine regardless ... only thing that you will have to really worry about is tapping the intake for the extra coolant sensor on the intake ... some have swapped aluminum cross over housings ... not sure how though ...like the other guy said just look at it as a standard longblock and keep all the accessories brackets , fuel system etc ..off your old engine and you should not have any problems
