Hey guys, i have a question. I recently heard about a 6.2L boss engine in production for 2010. would this drop into my s197 GT or will i have to find a new motor? i really want a bigger engine instead of going FI. i'll have about $7000 to play with when i get back from basic training in november and i want to know what i could do to get my stang runnin faster.

You would probably be better off getting a stroker motor from JDM or Livernois with forged internals to handle more power. You will have a hard time getting the right wiring harnesses for the 6.2 I would think. You will also have a very hard time finding any performance parts for the 6.2 for a long time; especially if it stays in the Super Duty pickups only. You might also be better off trading up to a GT500 which already has the forged internals and extra displacement.

I can assure that come 2010 there will not be a 6.2L motor.

I agree as far as the Mustang goes, they will probably not use the 6.2L. But I am almost positive it will be getting used in the Super Duty pickups, Ford already invested all the development money into it and they showed the production version in the Raptor pickup. The 5.4 is not competitive with Dodge and GM any more.

When has Ford cared if they were competitive with hp numbers? The F150 has been outpowered for 5 years and it's still the best selling truck. Ford doesn't care.

$7,000 can buy an excellent Supercharger kit and you'll be really happy with the power

I see your point about the FI and i may do a stroker motor then go FI later down the road. i mainly wanted something competitive without havin to break out the heavy weapons. i want to keep my GT and just upgrade it instead of going for the GT500, but i may look for a 03-04 cobra when i get back though because i've always had a chubby for those cars.
