Engine Swap

I have a 65 mustang and i'm looking to swap for a fuel injected 5 speed. maybe automatic. Any ideas on a good swap.
what years can i swap in mustang gt type. also i've heard the ford explorer or eddie bauer editions had some nice engines to drop in. just not sure on size and what not.

any ideas or feedback would be great.

any of the later 5.0 windsor engines will fit nicely, but you will have to change a few parts like the oil pan, front cover, oil pump pick up, plug the late model oil dip stick hole, and move the dip stick to the front of the engine, among other details.

the 5spd will go in using an aftermarket cross member, and you will have to shorten the driveshaft.
