Hey guys my motor is comming back home this thursday, and I dont want to keep it on the floor until it gets in the car. SO, im looking for an engine stand. The motor is a longblock, so it will be fully built on the stand. How much does a fully built motor weight? It is a 87 or so 5.0, with aluminum heads, and aluminum intake.
Also, can someone point me in the direction of a good engine stand, that wont break my bank account?
Finally, what would be the best way to keep the engine fresh/rust free inside while it sits until december?

Prolly a little under 500lbs with all that aluminum.

You can get good engine stands locally in any store that specializes in hydraulics and stuff. We have a place called Northern Tool & Equipment, Canada has Princess Auto, etc. Not sure what to call those stores, but most cities have em.

Get a stand that has 4 wheels instead of three.

No rust? Coat it with oil.
