That would be option 2 lol i'm finishing the mustang and trading or selling it for a ford truck. I've been receiving the final switches in the mail. needed headlight switch and turn signal switch, have those along with dimmer switch and am wiring that part up. Seems to me like I had the engine wiring how it should be but starters not cranking.

Where are you at with it? Did you check for power to the green wire with the key in the Start position? Did you find the neutral safety switch?

I'm going to get back into it today. Really stumped here. I thought I really simplified the whole system by getting the older style alternator, distributor and ignition switch for instance. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I got it running. I have to stand on the gas to keep it going, takes a bit of effort to keep her runnning. Don't have to use the clutch though. Wondering why she's not running right, timing maybe? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Took her around the block a couple times. She runs fine at WOT and high RPMS but at low rpms and When im starting at a stop light in 1st she wants to die and I have to really step on the gas to keep her going and get her started off the line, from then on it's easy. Anyone know what this could be. Also there's smoke coming from the radiator and a bunch of radiator fluid was on the ground before I took her for a ride so i'll have to attend to that, easy enough. More importantly though there's smoke coming from the catalytic converter and whatever that other smaller chamber further down the exhaust after the cat. conv. there was even more smoke billowing out from that. Oil in the exhaust? At first I thought the timing was off but the car ran fine before I started the wiring project. Only thing different is it's been towed 3 times or something. Also the speedo cable was right on the exhaust and it melted creating a lot of smoke. Sucks big time cuz it's new =/ Anyways I know it's tough not seeing the actual car but any help is appreciated and I can answer any questions thanks guys!

Okay and I will add also that when I shut the car off it wants to kind of stay running. It just sounds like it's still firing a little bit or something, it kind of hiccups along real slow and quiet and I have to just push in the throttle and flood it to get it to die finally. I wonder if that Black dizzy ground will help with this.

Well I am stoked overall that she's running at all. I was thinking, maybe during the towing around could a bunch of oil sloshed into the cats and just stayed in there and it's gonna burn off or itll have to be drained out? Basically the issues the car has now is this smoke coming from the exhaust, engine has coolant leaking a few small spots that's burning off and smelling. Maybe just a total fluid change, I should have enough extra fluids sitting around(this could sound bad lol). So all this makes me want to finish the wiring on the car and start taking care of cosmetic stuff, i'm happy. I located the painless key switch I got for the car directly to the left of the panel dim switch on the dash and the car's wired so u can just reach in from outside the car and start it no clutch needed. My arms are long enough I can reach in and crank the car over while i'm revving the carb lol, so it's a cool setup.

I've got to figure out where I want to route the rest of the switches. The dimmer switch I got is a floor push button style which I like. So I have that square hole next to the key where I could put one or two switches, probably the wiper and headlight knobs. Have to fab that up so it doesn't look horrible.

Also I want to fab a better radio bezel of some sort, open to suggestions on that. I did the console and a/c delete so the radio is where the a/c controls were. Not to mention run the wiring for the radio etc. which won't be hard at all. From what I recall it's like one red power wire, a ground, a blue antenna wire and the rest is the circuits for the speakers, or something like that. Would like to pick up a cig outlet and my wiring kit circuit for it is probably long enough to run the outlet and mount my lil power inverter behind the e-brake where I mounted the fire extinguisher. The power inverter has a lead that plugs into a cig lighter socket so itll be cool to have that little unit on board.
