give it a couple of weeks you'll get used to the little power it does have and begin to put money into it so you can get the feel it had when you first got it then you'll get used to that and add more power to get that feeling again. Its an ongoing cycle. If you dont want to spend money on it do yourself a favor and just sell the car. I think everyone in this forum could join an aa type group for spending to much money modding there car

soo true...it really does become an addiction. I swore i wouldn't mod my car either...lmfao...yeah right 2k later and i'm still no where close to stopping.

Even if we all bought 03 cobras we would still mod. It's a sickness.

??? I agree that the modding is an addiction. No argument there. I still plan on modding with an Eibach pro system, tint, cat-back,.....etc. I just am not going to spend the money on these little hp mods, FIPK, throttle body, plentium, x pipe, pullies, ....etc. As for telling someone to sell their car because they don't want to do what you want to do, well....that is just ridiculous!

You'll catch the mod bug again soon! Eventually ya get used to the power. For normal people who drive their car from point A to point B and don't care about performance, this is fine. But since you're on stangnet, chances are you'll want more power very soon

HAHA sorry for the long thread. I guess I should have known better than to post that here. I consider myself to be a sane person, and a responsible driver. I do like to go fast and have fun. The only point I was trying to make is that I personally will never be able to use 100% of this car even 50% of the time. If you do then I am glad I don't live in your town!

I used to think it was all about power also but it really comes down to how much you enjoy your car. If you are happy with your car at 265 fwhp then that's all that matters.

Just don't go riding in any supercharged cars or you may not be as satisfied as you used to be.

You'll be begging for MO POWER in less than six months. Go drive a WS6 then come back and say the Stang has plenty of power.

At best you'll be upgrading your suspension

Next couple of years probably. I want to see what the next gen Cobras will look, perform, and handle like.

Some of us do understand what you're saying. I've had my GT for over 2 years now, and I still feel the same way. If it were a drag-track-only car, then yeah maybe I might get into the power thing. But for a all-purpose performance car, the Mustang stock has more power than most people (myself included) can handle. Every time the rear end gets squirrely in a wet turn I'm reminded of that...

Note also how rare it is on this board to see threads about what people have learned in high-performance driving education.

Thats too funny...he's already got the bug and has had his car only for a few weeks. I felt the same as you when i drove my car home. I was used to driving a big heavy ass dodge ram and all of a sudden i have a more efficient engine, a manual transmission, and a much lighter and more nimble vehicle and it was fun. But once you get used to it you realize its no super car its just a very nice reasonably priced vehicle. Then the modding bug begins
