Error code 1441....help

My check engine light came back on, but I haven't noticed any difference in the way my car runs or any difference in gas mileage. I had it checked at autozone and they said it was a code 1441, which isn't listed in the thread about eec codes here on stangnet. Autozone wasnt sure what it was so I called the dealership and asked them what a code 1441 was and they said it had something to do with evap. and that the only way they could figure out for sure what the problem is is to run a "smoke test" or something like that. Does anyone know what the problem is? And how important is it that i get this fixed soon? Because it may be another week before I get the chance to put my car in the shop.

don't know what that code is exactly but if it has to do with the evap system a smoke test is usually the best way to find the leak

all they do is put smoke into the evap lines. if smoke comes out, there's the leak.


won't cause a problem with driveability or gas mileage but you won't pass emissions

That the one you're talking about? If you do a google search one of the sites which pops up is an F-150 site which has explanations for almost every one.. and things to check for.

I wonder if you got someone to read the codes again, as I'm not aware of a 1441. Or as sgarlic suggests, maybe it's 1141
