212 - Loss of IDM input to PCM or SPOUT circuit grounded

What should I look for other than a ground in the spout circuit?

I have a tach running off of the ignition coil, could this be causing an ignition module circuit failure?

Does the car run?

You're right to look for a short to ground in that circuit. I'd disconnect the elec connector from the EEC and ohm out the SPOUT circuit (EEC to SP-in at the TFI). Look for way less than 5 ohms of resistance (I'd want near 1 ohm).

Also ohm out the wire itself (checking continuity to ground, in case there's a short). You should see a ton of resistance.

The car runs, idles and seems to pull just fine.

I'll check the circuits when I get home and have access to my volt meter.
