Well I dropped my Solo S2 and it's dead now. I've had it almost three years so no more warranty.

I'm thinking of getting the new Escort 9500i. Has anyone had any experience with it? Any comments
would be helpful.

9500i

I read a post sometime ago, the guy praised it to the sky. I have the 8500 x50, couldn't be happier with it.

9500i

V1 is very good, but too pricey considering the old technology. The 9500i is a whole new generation of ecm. It will be my next detector.

Be glad that your Escort Solo S2 broke because it sucks even when it is working. Look how bad it did at the latest independent radar detector test.

This is why battery operated detectors suck:

The Valentine One is not old technology because it still beats the Escort 9500i and it is $50 cheaper.

There are big problems with the new Escort 9500i and the majority of people are returning them because of less range than the Valentine One and the 8500X50.

They are locking out signals from door openers and the 9500i is not alerting to cops that shoot radar in that area. Owners of the 9500i are also complaining that signals that they lock out are not staying locked out from the day before. They also say that their Sirius/XM radio is cutting out because of the 9500i and its GPS function.
