estimate on install for springs

does anybody have an idea about how much it should cost in labor to have springs installed?

Save your money and do it your self. Go to www.mustangworld.com and go to their how to section. they tell you how to and what tools you need. I have not done this before but when the time comes to do springs I will do them my self. I have read many people in the other forums say its pretty simple job.

Which springs are you looking at? The Ford dealer here has a set of spring in their store. I was considering that and having them install it so I don't void any warranties. Have you priced those out?

I don't know what's so hard about it. I've done two of them and there is nothing difficult about it at all. A couple jacks, jack stands, and some simple hand tools is all it takes to do it. It's about a 2.5-3 hour job once you get the hang of it.

The SN95 cars do not require a spring compressor to change the springs. This is a misconception. If it's not required, then do not use it. They are dangerous so why mess with them if you don't have to?

The key is to make sure you have them on there so that they won't slip when you are tightening and loosening the compressor. I've seen a spring nearly fly out of a compressor on someone that was a mechanic for over 40 years and he knew what he was doing. I avoid using them unless they are just absolutely necessary.

absolutely necessary is a good way to put it, my front springs wouldnt come all the way out so i had to use them for that and the new lowered spring went right in.

you shouldn't pay more than about $140

it's about a 1.5-2hr job and most shops charge about $60-70/hr.

lol thanks guys...i do appreciate all the help... i have done springs a few times myself and do know how to do them but time isnt that friendly to me right now and it will be the first tim ei actually hafta pay someone else to do the work. But i appreciate all the advice guys
