Anybody tried to squeeze the 275/40/17 ET Street on a Stock 17x8 GT wheel? I really don't want to buy two wheels since I just bought 20's. My plan was to Cruise with the 20's and use the stock wheels with the drag radials.

275s really need a 9 inch wheel. look at the tire specs. it prob. says 9-11 inch rim....

that's what I run at the track - 11" E/T streets on two of my stocker wheels

I have been using 275/40 17 BFG Drag radials all season with no problems.

Even though this is a little off-topic (but still sorta not), would a size 17x9 rim fit on the stock tire?

ya, but would look bad, the rim would hang over the edge of the tire......
