I can't tell the difference between ETC on or off. Does the button on the dash really turn off ETC, or is there another way. Living in Florida, I don't foresee needing ETC.

You can shut off this feature permanently with almost any programmer. You will not notice it being on or off unless and until you give enough power to break the tires loose. I can't wait to shut mine off as i sometimes forget it's on and stomp on it only to look like a fool when the gas is cut because i started to break one loose.

It's probably harder for me to tell because my car is an Automatic and it has 18" wheels and a huge footprint...it feels the same way both on or off. I'm going to have to supercharge it, to be able to peel out like a Mustang was born to do.

So are you saying you can light the tires just as well with it on as you can with it off? If so it is not working and i am jealous.

No, I can only get a chirp from a full stop to full throttle with the button in either position.

I have a 66 fastback with a stock 289 and a stock 2bb carb that will light the tires in first and also catch second, and it is also auto. Now, the footprint on the 66 is tiny compared to the huge footprint of the 07.

the first problem is that you have the stock tune, correct? if so, then that is the biggest hinderance to your burn out capabilities. the throttle does not respond well under 2500 RPM, especially with an auto. if you get a tuner and flash the PCM, you will have better luck.

You are correct, stock tune. I hope my wife gets me a cold air intake and a tuner for x-mas

I've been a good boy this year

You try brake torqing the car at all to see the difference? That's the easiest way to see the difference given your off the line lack of spin currently. If you brake torque it and it starts to cut power, then you know it's working. Or wait for some rain and try it then..

Brake torque, you'll peel out just fine with the stock tune!

Hell the new auto tranny is a lot more stout and takes it's beatings more so than the current 5spd. Not sure what's going on with that.

I have the auto(3.55 gears) and 18's and from a standing start I can get my tires to chirp a few times without revving it up while holding the brake. Here is a vid clip of my 0-100 run with TCS on and OD on.

I noticed on my run it shutterd big time on the start...like she wants to go, but Ford is holding her back...I will be getting the WMS CAI and SCT2 soon to take care of that!!!!!

Yeah the tuner makes a huge difference in how the car reacts. I would go with brenspeed or bamachips.

my friend is making a part so it will default to "OFF" when the car is first started, so you will not have to turn it off completely or will manully have to turn it on.I should be testing one pretty soon.

The first time I ran my car, at the drags, I thought that leaving the ETC on would help me launch. Between the anti-lock brakes pulsing and the huge drop in power it was ugly!

Let me know. Is it a mechanical or electrical component?
