I was thinking about doing an EVAC System on my mustang. It is the system that uses the exhaust as a vacuum sorce to draw the gases from the crank case. So it replaces the PCV. I was just wondering if any one else has done it. I was wondering how easy it was to set it up and also if who has done it do they like it? Also could I use one valve cover as the crank case ventalation and the other valve cover as the fresh air inlet? Just general questions on it. If any one has any information on this please inform me.

Thanks,
Dave

Yeah but from what I understand if you vacuum the gasses out of the crank case you make more power. That is why people go with a vacuum pump set up. But that is too much money that is why I want to go to a EVAC set up.

Yes you make more power because when your pistons are coming down it compreses the air in the crank case at which point puts a resistance on your engine. And you cant use PCV because it doesnt work at full throttle.

I ran a stack style breather with a nipple (mopar style) in my factory oil fill cap tube and ran the hose off of it down to my h-pipe where your smog connects to it. Works well !!!

The evac setup using the exhaust is not going to give you more hp to warrant installing it.

if you have catalytic converts it is a fire hazard and i would advise against it. also, if you have to pass emissions it highers your emissions. it's pretty much good for a drag car.
