I really love the way my car sounds at WOT, but have grown tired of the way it sounds cruising around town. Not sure if it's just the Prochamber making it too whooshy sounding, quiet or what, but I've heard some awesome sounding 'Stangs around here, that sounded amazing in the lower RPMs. I like it loud, and LOVE the way dumps sound, so I was thinking of switching to a Mac offroad H, with some Flowmaster 10 series mufflers, dumped with 4" turndowns before the axle. Any ideas for a good all-around, loud-but-not-sounding-like-a-truck setups?

I'm getting tired of th dumped lm 1's. I really wanna get lm2's. I'll plobably stay dumped since i want to do a panhard bar and torque arm setup sometime. I'm not a fan of the prochamber. I think its way to quiet. Quiet exhaust on a stang=/:barf:

Yes.

I have been thinking about changing mine for a little while.

I absoloutly LOVE how it sounds WOT. It is rediculously agressive and very loud, it sounds like satan himself screaming from the pipes...:D

Just cruising around and under part throttle conditions its a love/hate kind of thing. Some RPM's, and under a certain amount of throttle it sounds good... and under other RPM's and other certain amounts of throttle it sounds too plain, or has a weird note to it.

If I switched my midpipe, I would just get another brand X. I'm not really looking to switch to an H pipe and the ProChamber is too quiet under normal driving for me.

SO that just leaves me with the catback. In all reality I am a real big fan of the Mac systems. I won't put Flow's on my car because I am not big on how they sound with an X pipe most of the time. That leaves Magnapacks or Stingers that I would like to have...

Got other things to take care of with the car first before I switch exhaust.

Shiro: That setup you described in your post would sounds absoloutly sick.

On my 97 GT I had Blue Streak glass packs and man I wish i could have cut them off before I sold it. The sound they made were awesome and It is very hard to find Blue streak Packs. I have been seraching for some but have not been able to find any. My Mach has a bassani Cat Back and it sounds good but it does not have a good enough growl for me. It sounds very good at high RPM but I drive mainly cruising speed of 50 to 55 which is like 1600 RPMs and it is alright but bland, needs more growl. I am considering in a while to maybe to switch to SLP.

ever wish it was quieter? i have BBK LT's, a catted H and magnaflow CB and i can barely hear if someones outside my car talking to me with the window down

Is that the regular magnaflows you’re talking about or the packs? I have the packs with a catted H and don't have any problems talking to people with my window down at idle. Now the regular magnaflows are one of the quietest mufflers you can get but have a very deep tone to them.

I was talking to my uncle today about how I was getting tired of my current exhaust, and he says "I have these single chamber mufflers that we bought for the stock car. You can have them if you want them." I about freaked out, because I was very close to dropping the hammer on $175 for two Flowmaster single chamber mufflers last night. Turns out, the mufflers he has are "Cherry Bomb Extreme" single chamber mufflers, but they look and feel exactly like a Flow 10 series. Score for me. Now, I have one question. I want to get new flow tubes, and all I can find online are tubes for Mustangs up to 95. Would those tubes work fine for me? I can't imagine they would be much more different than 96+ ones.

Might I suggest an electric exhaust cutout... go from sounding like a racecar to sleeping on the freeway at the press of a button... phone rings "hang on let me switch my exhaust"
