When I first got my car, I was running low 16s, but as time went on, I eventually managed to perfect it to 15.7. One day, I squeezed it into 15.6 on a cold day, but hit a deer on the way home. After getting my car fixed, here's what my times look like

ET = between 16.3 and 16.1
60 ft time = 2.5
Reaction time. anywhere from .1 to .003

So it appears my car has gotten slower after getting fixed, which is kinda funny. My car is a '92 LX vert, and automatic. A horrible combo, but I make due with it. I was wondering if 3.73 gears, cold-air, and cat-back exhaust mods will get it into at least the high-14s. Another question is why does everyone think cat-back systems help so much? I think it's more of a noise mod then anything, and why buy an entire system when you can buy two Magnaflows, for example?

gears will help, although which ones would depend on what you wanna do with the car. what gears are in it 2.73's or 3.27's?
have you done any of the other basic stuff to it yet, like timing, air filter etc?

That's pretty low elevation. Heat and humidity does have an effect on HP. I think you need some gears ASAP. Forget the CAI, just get a K&N and remove the silencer, and the catback isn't all that, you'll bennifit more from a O/R (cat-less) H, X, or PC. No emmisons in FL so I don't see why they are still on there. Maby a larger MAF would help. Do the gears and mid-pipe, and see where that gets you, at least in the low 15's I bet.
