everybody is sayin swap

welcome to the board. my daughter is a junior in high school.

i'm sorry, i don't know the answer to your question ... i actually went the other direction ... t-5 to AOD.

but would you mind if i made a suggestion? if you could use just a little more punctuation, and end your sentences with a period (.), that would help make your posts easier to follow.

the folks on this board are great, and i'm sure you will be able to get all the info you will ever need here.

:welcome:2:SNSign:
for me,i can tell you it's much more fun to drive a stick.
the AODE for me was nothing but trouble and felt pretty slow, and heavy.

P.S.
if you need some parts for the swap.PM me.

a friend of mine did that to his and he spent i think 1200 for everything he got from mps salvage here in ga. They had everything needed factory t-5 but he likes it

T4MO 95-95 GT PCM
T5 tranny harness
upper shift boot
lower shift boot
clutch pedal assembly
clutch cable
95-95 GT bellhousing and tranny.(you can also use a fox bell and fox tranny, but you cannot mix parts between years.)
shifter(should come with tranny)
T5 exhaust hanger(may come with tranny)
block plate

-these you can get used,if in good condition-(i have these,if you need them:D plus hanger and block plate)
flywheel
pressure plate
clutch disc
clutch fork

-these get new ford-
throw out bearing
pilot bearing

i think thats it.

you can reuse your driveshaft, tranny crosmember.
you will need to widen the shifter hole on the tranny tunnel.
use the lower shift boot as a guide.

I did this about 7 years ago now on my last stang. they had a complete kit that made it really easy to swap over. i did it mostly cause the aode took a dump and i wasn't about to try again.

That AODE will actually run almost as fast as a 5 speed if you set it up right. If it doesn't bother you driving an automatic, I wouldn't bother with the swap, just rebuild the transmission with a Trans Pak.

thats waht i did... my first AODE blew... my second one i had it built by a Technical School around here since i knew the teacher and was short on cash, i needed a trans asap...

this past summer, that trans blew and i did it the right way this time around. cost me $1700 and had a trans built w/ shift kit and all alto red eagle gears. the car shifts incredible now !!! definitely not like before when it would lag. a shiftkit really does wake it up a hell of a lot. i couldnt be happier with this trans and itll hold some decent horsepower. if your going to rebuild, my suggestion is do it right the first time. i learned that mistake.

not only a shiftkit, but if rebuilding look into Alto gears. top of the line IMHO. i know they use them in the hatchback they race with at the race shop i go to, same guy who built my trans builds their trans for the racecar and the car is around 1100hp.

just my .02 :nice:
