Well my Accufabs will be here this week... do i want a slip fit style connector or a V band.... Discuss... and if you know of a place with good prices please let me know

My headers are 1 3/4 to a 3'' collector i have 3'' cats then i wanna step down to a 2.5'' mid pipe section and cat back.

So im thinking 3'' v band at the headers to cats. using a 3'' to 2.5 step down and welding it to the rest of my mid section.

Its either that or some 3'' dumps

I'd have ball and socket joints welded on them. Ball and socket hardly ever leaks.

momentary brain fart. Thought you had a 351 for some reason (thus the need for headers) but now that you say 306, the headers are due to the hi-port heads.

Now we're on the same page

V bands dont have much bulk. They get welded on and have a stepped ring:

They set me back like $70 after shipping...

I bought and recently sold some parts to make about a $250 profit after gas and what not... so i just took it outta my paypal.

But slip fits were like $20 each... then you needed the stupid U clamps that are like $5 each... so id be in $50 ish that way before shipping... the v bands i think are just all around easier to mess with... i guess we will see...

My headers ended up costing way too much... lets hope all this **** works out and gets me rolling soon...

There's always one part of the mod that costs a lot. I've used V-bands before, and they didn't leak. Not my top choice though. I spent this evening putting M3 suspension and a Z3 steering rack in an E3 BMW with H&R lowering springs, and a Bilstein shocks. I'm convinced that BMW is not a car company, they are a tool company. They only sell cars to help with the business of selling specialty tools to work on them.

Well i went with them because i know chris just welded on a set on the mufflers on his dads truck and they sealed so damn solid. George said to go slip fit but i have heard more then one person complain about them. I didn't want ball and sockets im just tired of looking at them

HAHAHA agreed everything is torque bolts... reverse torques weird easy to break ****.

I know mac has made a 3'' for foxes for a long time:
MAC CAT-BACK EXHAUST KIT 3 HTS w/ss tips 1979-1993 - CJ Pony Parts, Inc.

Found one for 94/95 as well:
http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?pid=CB5&hid=F16AJ1561&cat=F&trk=22

but at the point where you need a 3'' everyone usually just chucks on the dumps.
