exhaust decibels

anyone know a cheap way to attain exhaust decibel level??? any cheap tool??? or other way to do so? and does anyone know how much my window tint ticket will cost me ??? michigan state police issued it ....for those of you wondering i got another ticket for loud exhaust as well.... great day before chistmas.

yeah next time you get pulled over ask for the decibel reading...if they dont have an exact reading, they cant legally give you a ticket cause theres no evidence...but seriously, just plug in decibel meter in google and tons will come up

the only way the can issue you a ticket for loud exhaust.

1. they have to have a 200 yard area to test with NO obtructions
2. 3 Law informent officers present
3. Decible reading eqquitment

Next time they pull you over ask to see the readout from the decible meter and if they want to cite you, have them take you somewere as stated in #1. they KNOW the rules they just somtimes choose to think every person out there is a moroon. Im being a CHP officer in 6 months and Ive been studying !

Don't be so quick to say they can't give you a ticket for noise violation. Virginia's laws say you can't have an exhaust that emits "excessive or unusual noise" (I think that is the direct quote). It is stupid because it leaves it pretty subjective to the officer. Basically, the law eliminates any aftermarket exhaust. No idea how easy or difficult it is to fight in court. Make sure you have all the info related to you specific state before you start your fight. Check into the city or county as well, since often they have their own sound laws that are more strict than state regs.

i have/had 15% on all the side windows and 5% back glass... i drive with the windows down most of the time but apparently cops can make you roll up you windows to issue a ticket.. i was told it was too cold for me to be driving with my windows down.....
