so i have an 2001 gt auto and i have around 350 bucks to buy a new exhaust system..anyone have any tips on what to get that sounds loud and great..my friend told me i could get flowmasters for 300 but idk if those will even sound good because i have never heard them on a stang..so will someone please help me. Thanks.

you wanna be different. i know you might think it's redneck but i put 12 inch glasspacks on mine with 4x10 tips on my 2000 with stock h pipe and manifolds and it sounded like the best exhaust i have heard. no popping or gargling like a truck at all. not recomended without cats though. i have had 1 chambers on it with long tubes and no cats with shorties and no cats, they just are way too loud. also had pypes with tails with stock exhaust and it sounded good. today i put the pipes back on with long tubes and no cats and dumps. they are quieter than with stock cats and manifolds for some reason but sound good. trust me on the packs. they are cheap and sound mean as hell.

For $500 bucks get a Borla stinger C/B and combo it with a catted X. Autopartwarehouse.com has great deals on Borla and Magnaflow which IMO are the best performing and sounding exhaust systems for mustangs.
