Exhaust experts: 2005-2008 mufflers on 2002GT

I guess I'm getting old and can't stand the loud exhuast my Magnaflow Catback makes. I would like to keep the performance with the 2.5" exhaust but quietly. I was thinking of buying some 2005-2008 exhaust take-offs, and putting the mufflers in place of the Magnaflows. The 2005-2008 mufflers are 2.5" in/out so could fit with some cutting. What do you exhaust experst think?

Aren't the 05+ mufflers side inlet, center outlet? The center outlet may make it difficult to line up the tailpipes so they don't rattle or rub. The outlet would be a good 4-6" out of place.

From the pictures, they seem to come out from the sides. I'm concerned the intake side has the tube bent.

Seems your right. If you're good with a welder and can weld right up next to the muffler, then it should be no problem. Maybe take some measurements between your current mufflers and the 05+ mufflers and you'll know for sure.
