Exhaust Installation

Hello All-

I'm buying a Magnaflow cat-back system for my car here shortly and I was wondering how difficult it would be to install it myself. I'm already dumping $500+ into the thing, and I don't want to spend another $150-200 just getting installed. Does anyone have first-hand experience doing this on jack stands in their garage?

Any input would help, thanks.

My BBK system wasn't too hard to install in my garage. Just assemble the system on the car, keep all the fittings loose, and adjust everything so nothing is rubbing on the body, chassis parts or brake lines (you have hard brake lines running along the underbody, and you don't want to crimp one shut with your exhaust when you go over a bump!). Once everything looks good, tighten everything down and recheck your clearances after a road test.

where did you get the exhaust from? Is it a dual exhaust?

I didn't know BBK made a cat back exhaust system...

Sorry- it's a MAC system. I bought it at Dallas Mustang. Here's the kit: http://www.dallasmustang.com/page/products.php?category=&group=&family=&product=6941

It's an easy kit to install. All the joints are ball and socket style, so there aren't any clamps to mess with. It's more adjustable than a normal system.

cat backs and mid pipes are a direct bolt on, if i needed to hire a garage to take off and re-intall my exhaust each time i smogged id shoot myself Although u might need to take a sawzall to the pipe like i had to to mine to get it out from over the the axel i think it's the same deal on a v6 too.
