i realized this when i was transferring the exhaust manifolds in the swap. i had a pair of 2000 manifolds that came with my heads. when i swapped the manifolds, i noticed that the h-pipe flange hole on my 96 is about 1/2" or more bigger than the 2000's. i also noticed that the casting was larger and was a different style than the 2000, it was "wavy" almost, not flat like the 00. the 2000's flange was only 2" in diameter, vs over 2.5 on mine.
just thought it was wierd. i did reuse my 96 manifolds because the hole was obviously larger, as well as having a thicker casting.
