Exhaust Part Question

I've been told many times that there is something that goes between the bottom of the manifold and the mid-pipe on the passenger side. Is this true? If so, what part is it? I've been told it was called a "exhaust manifold gasket," but the guy at the parts place told me that refers to the gasket between the engine and the manifold. I am going to be swapping the mid-pipe sometmie within the next few days and I've heard that I need to replace this part. Thanks!

umm.. whenever I took my stock exhaust off there was nothing in between the manifolds and the H-pipe.

Same here when I swapped my X pipe on. I'm wondering if it's just a seal or something.

I gonna swap my mid pipe soon too. I read that you have always to change the gasket one side. With MRT this part should be shipped.

Yes, there's a gasket on the one side (passenger) between the H pipe and the manifold. Hopefully this pic works:
