exhaust question for 05 gt

i have a muffler delete exhaust already with stock h pipe if i install the o/r x pipe on with stock manifold would i lose to much back pressure? a guy in my unit says the mustangs need some back pressure or u loose hp from too much free flow...

Not sure bout the back pressure but i know when your using a off road pipe your freeing up alot of restriction form the catalytic converters and most ppl get 10hp out of it

I'm all about offroad x-pipes. I just installed one on my '06 GT and it made a big difference in power. Helped MPG too. But I don't know about running an offroad x-pipe with muffler deletes. It's SUPER loud that way. I've heard several cars with that setup and it is obnoxious. Not obnoxious MEAN sounding... obnoxious like, unhealthy for the car sounding.

Well, this is a video of what my 06 GT sounds like with an off-road x-pipe and GT500 mufflers. I believe there's a video here on S197forums of one with an off-road pipe and muffler deletes. It's obscenely loud.

I don't think the torque loss from lack of backpressure would be that noticeable... but it sure would be LOUD!!!
