Anybody in the MD/VA/DC area running longtubes and o/r mid-pipe? If so, what combo are you running and do you swap in a catted mid-pipe for inspections? Thanks.

Damn, guess I missed you somehow.

I wanted to run an O/R midpipe, but after talking w/ my local mechanic, I decided against it. Apparently, MD is has some of the most strict emissions laws, second only to Cali. The biggest problem I foresaw was swapping a catted midpipe back on every two years just to pass emissions, and then swapping my O/R back on. Also, you run the risk of a visual inspection by a cop if you're pulled over for having a "defective exhaust".

If you're not concerned with the above, consider this: I'm not aware of any catted midpipes that work with longtubes. I'm sure there's something out there, but if you wanted to swap your stock midpipe back on with longtubes installed, that's a no go.

When it came down to it, I wanted a loud exhaust that was emissions legal (it's my daily driver). I ended up going w/ the Magnapacks, and my catted x is on the way.

Anyway, I'm not trying to talk you out of using an O/R midpipe, but emissions will make it a pain in the ass to run IMHO...
