i have a question hopefully someone can answer for me, but first, a little info.
i have a 00 gt with a flowmaster american thunder catback (40 series mufflers) that i originally purchased for the sound. i also have a mac hi flow catted h. i really love the sound, but sometimes the drone annoys the hell out of me coupled with the fact that i have to turn my radio (stock non mach 460) up more than half way to enjoy music. i am thinking about getting some borla mufflers welded in. my question is if i did get the borla's welded in, would it reduce the drone sound and overall loudness of my exhaust significantly? also, would i get any additional performance from the borla's over the flows? thanks in advance

FMs will give you better performance than Borlas.

IMO the drone is caused by having mufflers of the same size. I would try welding in one Borla (or something besides FM) and see if that gets rid of your drone, before buying a pair of mufflers.

I wouldn't reccommend using two different kinds of mufflers for no other reason than you will be incorporating two different sounds as well as two different flow characteristics. Flowmasters drone bad and that is a known fact. The borlas won't drone as bad. My opinion- since you have a hi flow catted h pipe, you have all the backpressure you need.......buy a straight thru muffler that doesn't have chambers or baffles in it such as magnaflow, mangnapacks(made by magnaflow but louder), borla, steeda, bassani..etc. Those are all great choices but will cost you. You can get the magnapack muffs for like 80 bucks a piece. This will cut down on your drone and also free up the flow a little bit. Best of luck
