I am looking at getting the Magnaflow exhaust for my new 05 very soon...

I was wondering if someone could tell me realistically how much difference there will be performance/sound wise between the axle backs and the catbacks.....

If we are talking 1-2 hp and no sound difference, I may get the axle backs and save $100....

Thanks in advance for any help...

I would save your money and go with dual chamber flow masters, I personally like them better. The magna flow kit is way over priced. The sound of dual chamber flows is awesome, its deep. Imports motors lock up when you get on it with the dual chambers.

I have a local Mustang shop that is an authorized magnaflow distributor/installer...

I haven't seen the flowmasters for the 05 GT anywhere yet...

I was told my local shop that the previous mustang Flowmasters will fit. Thats what I am going by, but either way, I'll wait until they do come out with one, I mean seriously are you going to actually try and compare magnaflow or pac to flowmaster. There prices are outrageous, i think that I'll wait for flowmaster to get one, it wont be long.

I don't know any performance changes, but I am going with the Magnaflows because I hear they are quiter than most. I'm changing exhaust more for looks, performance and a little bit of sound but I don't want anything obnoxious.

Flowmaster hasn't made a muffler specific for the 2005 Mustang yet. I know, my car was at their shop for 4 days of R&D. They tried their stock Super40's and 40's and didn't find the sound they wanted. They never got around to making a pipe set while my car was there, spent the whole time playing with mufflers.

They decided that in order to get performance AND the American Thunder sound they want, they will have to design a new muffler from the ground up.

See the details here-> http://eleanor.pro3i.com/showthread.php?t=519111 for what part numbers they used, and photos. I love the sound

I will have A/B dyno tests done by an independent shop later this week (they are doing an SCT tune on it as well)

Does changing your exhaust void your warranty in any way?

The Magnaflow catback has been seeing gains of 10-12 rwhp

The axle back has been seeing gains of 7-8rwhp.

According to Flowmaster, they have yet to make any gains with their mufflers.

The 3valave cars sound different then the 2v and the 4v cars, so you may want to use some caution when choosing universal mufflers, as they will have a different sound then the previous generation cars.

The sound part is just my opinion.

Magnaflow catbacks will not effect your warranty in any way, they will only replace the limited warranty of the factory exhaust system with our life time warranty.
